PCT 2017 – California Horned Lizard at Kitchen Creek
May 27, 2017The Southern California Desert is not dry and barren like the Sahara. Rather, it is teeming with both plant and animal life. However, in order to survive, many animals and reptiles alike are masters of disguise and concealment, like this native California Horned Lizard. He froze when he saw me, so I was able to snap this photo and preserve this moment where I felt at one with nature. I was hiking the Pacific Crest Trail around the Kitchen Creek area, heading north from Boulder Oaks Campground. PCT 2017 photo taken by me, phoenixgenesis, on May 27, 2017.
