E3 2017 – Destiny 2 Promises to Please Fans of the Franchise
June 14, 2017I was fortunate enough to spend the first day of E3 2017 hanging out at Activision’s media area. Not only did I get to see the theater presentation of the new Call of Duty: World War II campaign, but I got some playtime in for both COD WWII and Destiny 2.
I remember when Bungie’s original Destiny debuted three years ago. My neighbor bought it for his Xbox 360. I bought it for my PlayStation 4. The only time we saw each other for the first few days were when we went on coffee and food runs. Otherwise, we were each glued to our respective consoles, happily gaming away. The guns were perfect, the movements fluid, the alien and future earth backgrounds stunningly gorgeous, the boss battles challenging, if at times impossible to defeat alone, and the music moving. However, the game needed a strong story. Enter Destiny 2. In my brief hands on session, I was able to get a glimpse of the new story line and battle some aliens. The game is everything I remember – completely polished as the first, yet now we have our compelling storyline! I can’t think of a single reason that fans of the original series would not be pleased with this game. I rarely pre-order games anymore, but rest assured, I will be rushing to pre-order this one as soon as E3 2017 closes its doors later this week. Also, if you’re going to E3 this year, be sure to stop by the Activision booth, try out their new games, and pick up a Destiny 2 T-shirt. Destiny 2 is slated for a September 6th release date on both PS4 and Xbox One.
