Working with Pink and Green Color Opposites – Photography Tips and Tricks

Understanding color is essential to creating great photographs. Here is a simple photo of a plant I took at the Los Angeles Zoo. The plant stem is pink and the leaves are green. These two color opposites enhance each other, making each color more vibrant as a result. I combined this effect with back lighting to make the scene even more vibrant. I also shot the plant at a slight angle to give a more dynamic feel to the image. As I have stated previously, you can craft stunning photos from the seemingly ordinary subjects you encounter in your everyday life. It is your observation of your surroundings and your understanding of lighting and color and angles that make all the difference in the world. Photo taken by me on my iPhone 4 on September 24, 2014 in Los Angeles, CA.
