PCT – Jake the Service Dog Book Signing

My then 7 week old blue-eyed Siberian Husky Jake (who I had adopted only 8 days prior), makes friends with the wonderful PCTA volunteers at the Pacific Crest Trail book signing at Adventure 16 in West Los Angeles, California. Jake turned age 5 on October 10, 2021. Jake has been training both on and off the trail for over 5 years now. He has replaced my 11 year-old service dog Ray who passed away in 2019. Jake is also a veteran section hiker of the PCT, having hiked portions between 2016 and 2022. Only service dogs, such as my signal and mobility aids, would be able to complete the entire trail as pet dogs are not allowed in various state parks in which the national scenic trail traverses.
