Ray the Service Dog Watches the Xbox Press Conference at E3 2014

I love this photograph I took of my amazing service dog, Ray. At first I used flash to take the photo, but it looked too much like a snapshot. By holding the camera steady and having a built-in image stablizer inside by Olympus DSLR, I was able to capture this beautiful image. It is always important to make sure that there are highlights in the eyes as the eyes are the windows to the soul. Since I knew that the Xbox logo was green, I complemented this color theme with a green bandana around Ray’s neck. I made sure that the camera focused on Ray, as he is the key subject in the picture, and that the borders of my photo had no distracting and unwanted items that would detract from the subject. I made sure that there were no reflections of myself or others in the glass so that we have a clear image of the press conference through a dog’s eyes. Finally, I made sure to reward my dog for his patience in holding still while I took this photo. I hope you learned a few tips and tricks to help you in your photography. I also want to give a huge thanks to Microsoft for their VIP treatment of me, Larry Rosales, and Ray at their keynote event. Photo taken by me on June 9, 2014 in Los Angeles, California at the Galen Center.
